I understand that you are a human being and that sometimes we find it hard to share things with others because we fear their judgement, therefore my private and confidential counselling space is the perfect place to explore whatever challenge you are facing safely. I follow GDPR and BACP guidelines keeping your details safe & secure giving you the privacy & respect you deserve.
Opening up to someone new would understandably make you feel anxious. You may wonder, "Will I be judged?" "Will I be told I'm a hopeless case?" However, talking to someone who is independent from every other area of your life can really help. I'll help you explore your thoughts and emotions in a friendly, non-judgemental & empathetic way.

I use many supportive ways of working to help you get the most out of your counselling journey. These include, Person-Centred, Psychoanalytic, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Relational, CBT, Gestalt, Spirituality and more. Which ever road we travel, it's important to remember that no one knows your life like you so you are always in the drivers seat.
A Critical Echo is a voice, thought, image, or re-enactment which endlessly repeats itself in your mind.
This Echo could be a scene from your past that won’t go away making you feel like you are still living in that situation.
The Echo could be a voice, or belief making you feel worthless, jealous, anxious, depressed, lonely, or scared.
Maybe there’s a Critical Echo from the past, something emotionally critical that has never been dealt with. Something you
may have been unconsciously carrying around like a bag of bricks, sapping all your strength, joy, positivity, and life.
Maybe there’s an internal Echo critiquing your choices or performance, telling you that;
"you get everything wrong" - "nobody loves you" - "you need to be perfect" - "why do you keep making mistakes" -
"why are you so stupid" - "hold in your emotions, vulnerability is a sign of weakness" or "people like you do not win in life".
These repetitive thoughts could even have a Critical meaning which you may have been overlooking.
Is there an 'Emotional Echo' which has become overwhelming? Do you start crying for no apparent reason?
Do you sometimes feel depressed, angry, stressed, frustrated, sad, nervous, confused, annoyed, irritated etc?
Or maybe, on the other hand, do you feel emotionally numb, distant, withdrawn, or disconnected?
What ever this Critical Echo is trying to communicate; the chances are that you have bought into the message without question.
But why are these repetitive thought Echoes there in the first place? Where do they come from?
Do other people have these thoughts or voices? Am I normal? What can I do about it?
If this sounds like you, you are not alone. Reaching out to talk to a professional takes strength and courage, especially when times are tough.
